The name is Scottish Gaelic. It sounds just like it’s spelled, very similar to Elizabeth. (Elspeth = Elz – peth.)

Rutgers University – Cook College (the agricultural campus) – B.S. in Plant Science
- Worked for Rutgers Cooperative Extension

Clemson University – College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Science – ABD Ph.D. in Plant and Environmental Sciences (agronomy)
- Served as departmental Grad Student Government Representative

While Elspeth has significant fiscally-conservative accomplishments as a representative, she chose to devote her life to agriculture.

Her specialty was genomic analysis for improvement of crop plants. She wants people around the world to be able to grow their own local & fresh food.

Elspeth’s father has spent his career writing health policy—first for the SC State legislature and then at USC. As a result, health policy became Elspeth’s secondary focus in graduate school.
